Safe Systems’ Vice President of Compliance Services Earns AICPA’s Cybersecurity Advisory Services Certificate
Alpharetta, Ga., May 31, 2018 – Safe Systems, a national provider of fully-compliant IT and security services for community banks and credit unions, today announced that its vice president of Compliance Services, Thomas Hinkel, has earned the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants’ (AICPA) Cybersecurity Advisory Services Certificate.
The certificate sets important standards for certified public accountants (CPAs) and bank auditors to assess cybersecurity risks and provide advisory or assurance services to financial institutions and other organizations. This is the AICPA’s inaugural class for the certificate, which focuses on key cybersecurity advisory services concepts including: cybersecurity risk management, gap analysis and risk assessment, SOC for Cybersecurity, and penetration testing.
The insights and assurances gained through the certificate process will enhance the Safe Systems compliance team’s ability to assist their customers in addressing cybersecurity regulations and best practices, as well as add additional value to the company’s Cybersecurity RADAR service offering.
“The AICPA’s certificate is a valuable asset in keeping our company at the forefront of what bank auditors are learning (and bank examiners expect) relative to cybersecurity guidance, and helping our customers meet the AICPA’s new standard of excellence,” said Hinkel. “This certificate reaffirms our commitment to improve overall compliance processes for community financial institutions, and specifically ensure they have the proper tools and guidance to not only meet regulations, but also to protect themselves from cyber threats.”
