October is a month of change. The falling leaves, cooler air and shorter days are a reminder that summer is over and winter is fast approaching. Amid all this change, however, October has come to stand for something powerful and consistent as well. As National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, it is a time for us all to reflect on and raise awareness for a disease that affects millions of women each year. And this year, we’re taking the opportunity to support one of our own bankers.
At this year’s Jack Henry Banking and Educational Conference and Technology Showcase, running from Oct. 22 to 24 in Orlando, Safe Systems is inviting its clients to help honor Nicole Rinehart, Chief Operations Officer at American Pride Bank. An active member in the community, Rinehart is the 2013 Survivor Honoree for Komen Central Georgia, and president of the Central Georgia Affiliate of Susan G. Komen. We’ll be donating to Rinehart’s Race for the Cure team for each Safe Systems client that visits our booth (No. 711) and picks up a pink ribbon.
If you or another person from your bank is attending the conference, please stop by booth 711 and say hello. We’ll have pink Safe Systems customer ribbons at our booth, and for every ribbon picked up, Safe Systems will donate $10 to her team, “Bankers for the Cure.” Here’s a link to Nicole’s personal website as well: centralgeorgia.info-komen.org/site/TR/RacefortheCure/MCN_CentralGeorgiaAffiliate?px=12522646&pg=personal&fr_id=3675
And don’t forget — Jack Henry announced a “Pink Out” for Thursday, Oct. 24 at the conference, inviting everyone in attendance to don the official color of cancer awareness. It’ll be a great chance to show off that pink ribbon and help out a fellow banker (and cancer survivor) along the way.
