The Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. has released a series of new videos aimed at helping bank directors, officers and staff better understand regulatory issues and changes to regulation, according to a release from the organization. It’s the second such series produced by the agency for community banks.
“As part of our community banking initiative, we committed to provide more technical assistance, addressing a common suggestion we heard from bankers across the country,” FDIC chairman Martin J. Gruenberg said in the release. “These videos provide high-level coverage of important topics directly related to the responsibilities of bank directors, officers, and employees.”
The latest batch of six videos covers the topics of information technology, third-party risk, corporate governance, interest rate risk, the Community Reinvestment Act and the Bank Security Act. The FDIC plans to release more videos later this year. The first set of videos were released in April.
The material covered in the agency’s videos is a virtual version of the FDIC’s directors’ college program. They are available at fdic.gov/resourcecenter.
