Symantec AV customers: Your anti-virus software license may have expired

It is imperative to have up-to-date anti-virus protection on your systems at all times. Don’t get caught with an expired AV license. Many customers have found out the hard way that not having the current AV data files can devastate your network systems.

If you are a Symantec AV customer, it is recommended that you verify the expiration date of your anti-virus license agreement. There is a 60 day window after the date of the license expiring to continue to receive Exchange users: The license file can be viewed for Symantec AV for Exchange.
Corporate edition users: This version does not display an expiration date. To verify the license certificate go to the site:
http://www.symantec.com/techsupp/enterprise/select_product_certificate_nojs.html, select the correct product, and enter the pertinent information.
Each one of Symantec’s AV products support expires on a certain date. Here are the dates:

  • Version 7.6 – Mar. 31, 2005
  • Version 8.0 – Nov. 30, 2005
  • Version 8.1 – Sept. 30, 2006
  • Version 9.0 – Sept 30, 2007
