| Can New Technology Lower Your Total Cost of Ownership? | |||
| Description: | Magazines, newspapers, friends, family, everyone has an idea on how to save money. When it comes to technology, everyone knows how to save a buck. Whether you buy a computer from a local guy who builds them himself or use webmail instead of installing Office, there is a savings and most likely a cost. The homemade PC may be harder to find drivers or replacement parts or webmail may not offer all the features needed later on. Many people will tell you to implement Citrix or Virtual Machines, amongst other fads. These technologies have the potential to save you money but they also have the potential to cost you thousands. We will discuss several new technologies and how they may (or may not) save you money.
Pros and Cons of:
|
||
| Reducing the Cost of Data | |||
| Description: | Have you ever considered the cost of your data? Data, at first glance, seems to have a very small expense. Data and files can be compared to water: water costs you when you use it but the amount per use is so low you don't really consider its cost. If you need to water your grass, you do. If you need to wash your clothes, you don't stop to think what one load will cost you. Data is often thought of in the same manner. You save a file to a server and don't care if you use it later or not. It didn't cost anything to save it there, right? You are right to a large degree; one useless file saved one time is low in incremental cost. But thousands of useless files saved over a 5 year period can add a rather large cost to the bottom line.
In this webinar we will discuss some of the costs involved and some ideas to minimize those costs. Along with cost savings, a new perspective and understanding of data/file management will be discussed. |
||
| Popular Group Policy Settings | |||

Do you have users who play Solitaire instead of working? We can block access to games from the server. In this webinar we will discuss some of the most popular group policies along with a few hidden gems that you might want to use. | ||
| Give the Gift of Documentation | |||
| Description: | Are all your duties defined? What would your bank do if you were no longer able to work? Is there a set of instructions on how to perform your tasks? Would it take the bank one week, two months, or three years to get everything back under control? Most of us are not arrogant enough to think it would take three years for the bank to recover, but there is a chance that a couple of important steps or tasks might be overlooked for awhile.
What if a hard drive is found in the hands of a criminal? Do you have a way to determine where the leak came from? Was it taken from your bank? Trash? Recycle company? Documentation is never fun but is crucial. We will discuss several processes that might seem mundane but need to be documented properly. |

| Hosted Exchange: Is it Right for You? | |||
| Description: | While you are continuing to manage the ever-growing complexities of your overall business and operations, email is quickly becoming even more mission critical to the growth and success of institutions. Each passing day finds financial institutions using email more frequently as part of their everyday business. In fact, the average employee receives 23 emails a day while the average manager receives greater than 100! Implementing your own email solution offers some great advantages, but comes at a very high cost as you factor in the cost of hardware, licensing, upgrades, support, maintenance, and backups. Often these costs are unpredictable, making them difficult to budget from year-to-year. Any institution looking to upgrade their mail system to the latest version of Exchange or is looking to transition to a more powerful email solution may find that Hosted Exchange is the perfect solution. In this webinar, we will discuss:

||
| Remote Services | |||
| Description: | Remote deposit capture devices are beneficial tools in helping to maximize time, productivity and valuable resources, but they can bring new risks to the table. ||
| Smartphones and Your Institution | |||
| Description: | The growth of Smartphones over the last year or two has been staggering. We are now past the early adopter phase of this technology lifecycle where only sales forces, corporate "crackberry" junkies, and techies are using this technology. When my mom just asked me if she needed to get a Smartphone, not only did the earth stop rotating for a few moments, but a transition from early adopters to early majority has been made. The ubiquitousness of Smartphones can be seen every time you go to a restaurant, conference, or mall; someone is standing around typing an email or browsing the Internet from their phone. Let's step back for a moment and discuss the effects the widespread usage of Smartphones has on financial institutions. Specifically, how does this change your employees who use Smartphones access to your institution's information? In this webinar we will discuss:

| 2010 Breaches and Preventative Measures for Your Financial Institution | |||
| Description: | There are currently twenty-two reported breaches in financial institutions in 2010 as of the end of April. That means dozens more breaches, if not hundreds, have most likely occurred and have not been reported or noticed. The most disturbing issue is not the number of breaches, which in the grand scheme of things is relatively small, but where the breaches occurred and how many could have been completely prevented. Most of these were not the typical "hacking" that we think of with a breach. A majority of these were simply issues relating to employees. In this webinar, we will look at a breakdown of where these breaches came from, quotes about many of the breaches to identify where the mistakes were made, and possible solutions or controls that would help in these exact scenarios. I think you will find at the end of this webinar that many of these breaches could have been avoided if simple security protocol had been adhered to and/or enforced. |
||

| Authentication: Methodology & Best Practices | |||
| Description: | Authentication is a cornerstone of security for an institution. In this webinar, we will explore several authentication methods, password best practices, and what the future might hold for authentication in general. Discussion will include:
|
||
| Controls: A Risk Mitigation Strategy | |||
| Description: | Mitigating risks to a large degree boils down to having the appropriate controls in place. When performing a risk assessment, often the answers to the defined risk are specific controls to be implemented. These controls can be a policy, a software application, a configuration setting, etc. As a financial institution the security of your institution is based on these controls. If you attended the 2010 Breaches webinar a few months ago, most of the breaches occurred because a specific control was not implemented or enforced well. In this webinar we will examine controls as it relates to specific technology within your institution. This webinar will include:

||
| Email Retention | |||
| Description: | "How can I find all the email John Doe sent out over the last 6 months?" Substitute your employee name for John Doe and that is a question our Support staff hears several times a year. The reasons for this question vary. Some suspect John of using the institution's email system for inappropriate purposes (leaking information/leads, job hunting, unethical business dealings, inappropriate personal communication, etc). Some have been informed by a court order that they must produce specific emails pertaining to a particular loan or other customer relationship. Email retention should be defined by your document retention policy, but unfortunately, email retention is often defined by the end user. John kept the ones about his kid's birthday, the office Christmas party, and his fantasy football team, but deleted every other email from his Inbox and Deleted items. He also cleaned out his Sent items. So the answer to the above question is "You can't"- unless you had a process in place to capture all his emails and make them retrievable. In this hour-long webinar, we will examine the processes that you must put in place to adhere with compliance and legal obligations including:

| NetComply Update Webinar | |||
| Description: | The much anticipated NetComply software update is just around the corner. You may have heard us talking about the update or even demoed it at our Users Conference last March. We have been busy for the last several months putting the finishing touches on the new release. The new software offers several advantages throughout the product. The ability to schedule a patch scan on-demand and new options in the Remote Control section are just a few of the new features. The software update also offers more flexibility for future changes. This means we will be able to offer more features through NetComply as the system supports this ability. We are excited about what this new version can offer to you going forward, but we also know there is a learning curve ahead of all of us. While almost all the functionality that you currently enjoy will remain, the navigation has changed quite a bit. For this reason, we would like to invite you to a webinar to cover the new version before we release it. You will start to see emails in the next few weeks about your conversion date, but in the meantime, sign up for one of our two sessions explaining what is coming and what it means to you. Items covered:

| Modern Malware: Examples and Methods to Detect and Prevent an Infection | |||
| Description: | Malware creation is at an all-time high, with as much as 70,000 new variants being introduced into the wild every day. A significant percentage of these threats are banking Trojans designed to harvest customer’s private information and online banking credentials. Traditional, signature-based security technology is struggling to keep pace with the torrent of new malware and it has become clear that new, more robust security mechanisms need to be leveraged to effectively mitigate risk.
